Matthew T. Lewis, MD
Dr. Lewis received his B.A. in Biology at Washington University and his M.D. at the University of Missouri School of Medicine, cum laude honors. After his internship at St. John’s Medical Center in St. Louis, Dr. Lewis completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and a fellowship in Inflammatory Ocular Disease at the National Eye Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. He joined Capitol Eye Care in 1991.

James G. Luetkemeyer, MD
Dr. Luetkemeyer received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering, summa cum laude, at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and his M.D. at the University of Missouri School of Medicine, cum laude. After his internship at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, Dr. Luetkemeyer completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Miami-Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. He joined Capitol Eye Care in 1995.

Mitchell M. Loftin, OD
Dr. Loftin received his B.S. in Textile Chemistry at Clemson University and his O.D. at the University of Alabama School of Optometry in Birmingham, Alabama. After ten years in private practice, Dr. Loftin accepted a faculty appointment with the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospitals and Clinics. He joins our practice after twelve years at UMCHC.
