Comprehensive Eye Care Center

While young, healthy patients with good vision only need eye exams a couple of times in a decade. Patients over 50 should plan on an eye exam every two to three years. For those with a history of eye problems or eye disease, your ophthalmologist may require more frequent visits to monitor your vision.

If you experience any changes in your vision between regularly scheduled visits, you should schedule an appointment as soon as possible. Early detection and treatment of problems can be the key to preventing loss of vision.

Comprehensive Medical Eye Exams

Comprehensive eye exams for adults may include the following:
  • Review of family and personal health history.
  • Examination of the eye’s interior and exterior for signs of eye disease, diabetes, hardening of the arteries, or other general health problems.
  • Eye pressure and field of vision tests to diagnose glaucoma.
  • Refraction to determine glasses or contact lens prescription.
  • Slit lamp examination and dilated examination.

Your visit to Capitol Eye Care will include a discussion of the exam’s findings and any treatment that the surgeons prescribe. Schedule an appointment today!
